Device Doctor

Device drivers are the answer to many issues. For example, a computer game may not run well or its graphics could be full of glitches. Upgrading your video drivers may solve this issue. Finding drivers can be a longer process than expected. You have to go to the manufacturer's web site and look for your device's model in a long list. Device Doctor provides you with a faster solution. Instead of searching web sites for drivers, you can specify a certain device and the software will search for driver updates automatically.

The utility is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Win 7. As far as system requirements go, you only need 10 Mb of free space on your hard drive. Device Doctor is lightweight, therefore it can be downloaded and installed on your computer in no time.

After launching Device Doctor, it will start scanning your hardware automatically. You will have to wait a few seconds, but only if you run the program for the first time. The next time you start it, the scan will be much faster. If a new device is plugged in, you may start a new scan and Device Doctor will detect it.

When the scanning process is complete, a list of the hardware that need to be updated will be displayed on the lower half of the interface. You can select any device by clicking a radio button next to its entry in the list. The Download Driver button, in the lower right corner, will bring up the software's web page, where you will find a download link for the selected device's latest driver.

A schedule for regular scans can be set in the settings panel. The software can be scheduled to perform single scans, daily or weekly ones. You can also set it to scan your hardware on system startup.
